Summary：The imperialism of the United States during World War I. Two articles hold opposite views on the imperialism policy adopted by the United States in the early 20th century. P1 is selected from Albert Beveridge’s speech: The March of the Flag. The author strongly supports the imperialism policy of the United States. Territory expansion is a sacred mission for the United States. P2 is selected from William Bryan’s (The Paralyzing Influence of) Imperialism, and also uses a classic writing technique to oppose the imperialist policy of the United States and support the autonomy of the Philippine Islands.
